Renee Romer, MIHC, LMSW
Renee is a Licensed Clinical Therapist with a Master’s of Social Work Degree in Interpersonal Practice from the University of Michigan. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Integrated Healthcare with a Minor in Policy & Evaluation from the University of Michigan, as well as dual Bachelor Degrees in Social Work and Psychology from Eastern Michigan University.
Renee enjoys creating an alliance with clients, helping them to feel comfortable, safe and understood. Her orientation is strength-based, solutions-focused, and goal-oriented. She is trained in a number of clinical methods of practice and is certified in trauma-based treatment. Renee strives to have a practice style that is warm and interactive, emphasizing self-discovery, empowerment, and acceptance.
Her work with her clients is person-centered, meeting the client where they are at. She loves working with children, teens, families, and emerging adults. That’s her passion!
Past experiences include Michigan Medicine, University of Michigan Hospital, Prechter Bipolar Research Program, Michigan VA System, and Community Mental Health settings. She has experience working with dual diagnosis, trauma, ADHD, emotion impulsivity and dysregulation, depression, anxiety, behavioral interventions, and a variety of other mental health presentations.
