Lori Dunn, LLMSW

Lori earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University in 2003 and completed her Master’s in Social Work at Oakland University in 2026.

Lori is passionate about supporting teenagers, adults, couples, and families as they navigate life’s challenges. She strives to create a safe, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to pursue healing and personal growth.

​

Her therapeutic approach is rooted in traditional talk therapy and guided by a strengths-based perspective, helping clients recognize and build upon their natural resilience and abilities. Lori incorporates psychotherapy techniques into her work and also utilizes play and art therapy interventions when working with children.

Lori has experience supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. She is committed to helping clients develop insight, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful, positive change in their lives.

Inspired by a lifelong desire to help others, Lori understands firsthand the value and power of having a supportive space to talk and process life’s experiences. Her personal appreciation for therapy helps shape the compassionate and authentic care she provides to her clients.

About Lori

  • Lori has a deep love for music and singing and even had the incredible opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall.

  • She enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures, finding inspiration in the people, experiences, and places she encounters along the way.

  • ​At home, Lori finds peace in gardening and nurturing growth both inside and outside of the therapy room.

Lori sees clients aged 5 and older.

Lori accepts  Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, McLaren, McLaren Medicaid, Meridian Medicaid, Priority Health & Priority Health Medicaid.
