Amanda Locke, LPC

Amanda Locke is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her Master’s in Counseling from Oakland University in 2012. She is especially passionate about working with teens, supporting them through some of life’s most challenging and formative years.

Amanda works with clients navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, and the everyday stressors that come with school and life transitions. She understands how overwhelming these experiences can feel and is committed to helping clients build insight, resilience, and confidence as they move forward.

Her path to becoming a therapist is deeply personal. Growing up as the oldest sibling in a divorced family, Amanda naturally stepped into a supportive role early on. She was often the person others turned to for advice or simply someone to listen. After experiencing her own ups and downs and engaging in therapy as an adult, she gained a deeper appreciation for the process of self-discovery and growth. That experience solidified her passion for helping others find their own strength and direction.

Amanda incorporates a variety of creative and evidence-based approaches into her work, including art, games, reading, journaling, and EMDR. She tailors each session to the individual, recognizing that no two clients are the same and that therapy should be as unique as the person in it.

She believes strongly that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Amanda is known for being straightforward, honest, and genuine in her approach. She prioritizes building strong, trusting relationships with each client and works collaboratively to help them meet their goals and expectations for therapy.

When working with children and teens, Amanda focuses on making therapy engaging, functional, and family-centered. She uses play as a meaningful tool to support learning, emotional expression, and growth.

Amanda welcomes any questions and encourages potential clients to reach out. After years of exploring different paths, she found her calling in her mid-30s and truly loves the work she does every day.
