Aimee Monticello, LMSW
Aimee is a fully licensed clinical social worker who provides individual therapy and family counseling for children, teens, and adults. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and her Master of Social Work from Wayne State University in 2009. With more than a decade of experience, Aimee has worked in a variety of clinical settings including pediatric and adult hospice, perinatal grief support, and elementary school social work.
Aimee is passionate about working with clients ages 7 and up, including children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, emotional sensitivity, grief, infertility, parenting challenges, divorce, life transitions, and periods of personal or spiritual growth. She has extensive experience supporting highly sensitive children and helping families build stronger emotional connections and coping strategies.
During her time as an elementary school social worker, Aimee worked closely with children in special education, helping them develop emotional regulation, social skills, and healthy coping tools for anxiety and behavioral concerns. Her background in grief counseling, infertility support, and parent coaching allows her to compassionately guide individuals and families through some of life’s most difficult and transformative moments.
Aimee takes an integrative and individualized approach to therapy, tailoring each session to the unique needs of the client. She incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strengths-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness practices, play therapy, somatic techniques, journaling, art, and spiritual exploration into her work. She believes healing happens best in a safe, supportive environment where clients feel truly heard, understood, and empowered.
Aimee was inspired to become a therapist because of her own experiences growing up as a child with “big feelings” and anxiety. She understands the importance of having supportive adults who listen with compassion and care, and she strives to provide that same sense of safety and connection to every client she works with. She feels honored to walk alongside people through seasons of change, growth, healing, and self-discovery.
Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, grief and loss, infertility, parenting concerns, emotional overwhelm, or life transitions, Aimee provides compassionate and trusted mental health care to clients in the Macomb, MI area.
