Renee Romer, MIHC, LMSW
Renee Romer is a fully licensed Clinical Social Worker providing evidence-based psychotherapy to children (ages 7+), adolescents, teens, young adults, adults, parents, and families. She is licensed in the State of Michigan and offers both in-person and virtual services.
Renee earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Social Work and Psychology from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan, along with a Master’s in Integrated Healthcare and a minor in Policy and Evaluation.
Renee specializes in working with neurodivergent individuals and families, including ADHD, autism spectrum (Level 1), dyslexia, and high intellectual ability, as well as clients experiencing anxiety, OCD, overthinking, perfectionism, emotional regulation challenges, mood concerns, and relational stress. She also provides parenting support and collaborates with schools to support IEP and 504 planning.
Her therapeutic approach is integrative and strengths-based, drawing from CBT, DBT, ACT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, mindfulness, and expressive interventions such as play- and art-based techniques when appropriate. Her style is warm, collaborative, and grounded, with an emphasis on practical skills, insight-building, and meaningful, sustainable change.
Renee believes therapy should be a supportive and steady space where clients feel understood, accepted, and equipped with tools that work in real life. She partners with clients and families to develop individualized treatment plans that support clarity, regulation, and long-term stability.
Getting Started: Renee begins all new client care with a brief, complimentary consultation at no charge to ensure a supportive and well-matched start to therapy. This conversation allows time to share what you’re experiencing, clarify your needs and goals, and ask questions in a relaxed, no-pressure setting as part of the intake process.
